Breyer Kipper ("Happy")

Very unique and rare never released Breyer Thelwell's Pony Kipper. Kipper has a movable head and is a chocolate brown with black mane and tail 4-1/2" tall, 5-3/4" long (9" long including forelock and 2-1/2" long by 2" wide tail), and 2-1/2" wide. . Kipper is excellent condition with minor hoof edge, ear tip and a pinpoint rub on hip. He is molded from the same high quality plastic that all Breyer model horses are made with.
Norman Thelwell was an English cartoonist born 5/3/1923 and died 9/23/2004. He was famous for his cartoon's of Penelope and her little Shetland pony Kipper. His first book was published in 1957 "Angles on Horseback" which featured his little chubby, very cute horses with an attitude who usually got the best of their riders. In the middle 1980's Breyer was going to introduce a new line of ponies called Thelwell's ponies. They had announced and advertised them in their catalogue. The first pony that was to be introduced in 1986 was Kipper Model No 9960 Sculptor unknown. When Breyer received the shipment of ponies they decided that they would not release them because they were not happy with how they turned out. They pulled the models that weren't actually released. In order to clear the Breyer warehouse the models of Kipper were sold to a Horse Collectors Model Supply Company, which was a Breyer mail order service. The service was based in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the time they obtained the models of Kipper.
