Breyer Napoleon's Marengo
Model: #1186
From Breyer's Horse in History Series
Marengo was a small but striking grey Arabian
who served as Napolean's mount in important battles.
He apparently carried the wounds to prove it. It was
rumored that he had 5 scars and a bullet lodged in his tail!
Napoleon! He came from nowhere to rule first France, then all of Europe and then he lost it all. Captured after the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's bitter and final defeat in Belgium in 1815, Marengo was taken to England, where, until his death in 1832, he was a sensational exhibit known as "Bonaparte's Charger." His skeletal remains are on exhibit in London. This Huckleberry Bey model came in two variations, one with brown and gray flecks and this one with brown flecks only. Photo is of actual model available.
