Most believe, however, that Father Christmas is based on the life of the patron saint St. Nicholas (270-310 AD) who was renowned for his generosity to the poor and children. Capturing the spirit of this beloved character is Breyer’s white-bearded Father Christmas, dressed in a festive flowing red velvet robe trimmed in ornate green, red and gold, with a matching hat and a sack of presents over his shoulder. His shimmering golden mare, Glittery, has a white mane and white tail with red and gold ribbons, and features “Happy Holidays 2004” delicately printed on her belly. Crafted of artist’s resin with hand-painted detailing, our articulated Father Christmas has arms that move!
